Attic Temps vs. Outside Temps (May)
May 11, 2009 Phoenix, AZ. The results above were obtained by using a digital indoor-outdoor thermometer (WalMart 14.95). One sensor was placed in the center of a gabled-roof attic with louver vents and the other outside in the sunlight. As you can see, the attic temps are much higher than the temps outside. Heat in the attic space is trapped from heat rising from the living space and heat absorbed through the roof. No heat can escape without wind.

May 19, 2009. As you can see, as outside temps rise, attic temps rise proportionately. Attic temps are an average of 12.5 degrees higher then outside temps peaking at 5:00PM at 24 degrees higher.
